Sankofa Psychotherapy and Wellness Groups: Healing Through Faith, Community, and Knowledge

Micah Dell
Healing is not meant to be done alone.
At Sankofa, wellness groups bring ancestral wisdom, storytelling, and spirituality into collective healing experiences rooted in African traditions.

Sankofa Psychotherapy’s Wellness Groups were created from a vision to merge healing, faith, community, and ancestral knowledge. These circles draw on African-centered traditions where storytelling, ritual, and collective wisdom are medicine for the soul.
Our groups serve as sacred spaces—where participants rediscover belonging, reclaim identity, and learn tools to manage stress, trauma, and intergenerational pain.
Whether through guided rituals, affirmations, or discussions grounded in the Nguzo Saba principles, participants are reminded that healing isn’t a linear process—it’s a shared journey.
At Sankofa, we believe that when one person heals, the whole community moves closer to liberation. These groups remind us that connection itself is the cure, and community is the container for transformation.
